Ricoman was involved in the conversion of an old factory previously vacated by Sonoco, a Global Specialist Packaging Manufacturer. The new owners MAQIO Limited are a toy importer and wholesaler.

The building is based in Rochdale, UK consisting of three floors of revamped commercial offices to the front end and a large industrial open plan floor space which has now been fully racked out as a new distribution hub.The building is based in Rochdale, UK consisting of of three floors of revamped commercial offices to the front end and a large industrial open plan floor space which has now been fully racked out as a new distribution hub.

The existing lighting in the warehouse consisted of a mix of quite old LED fixtures and a variety of metal halide and high-pressure sodium low bay fixtures. All were installed on the basis of lighting an open plan area so positions were not ideal to align with the new racking installation. None had any lighting control and the client required both PIR and Daylight Harvesting to areas containing a Northlight roof to maximise energy savings.

The office areas now incorporate new suspended ceilings with Core UGR panels and the secondary front office areas include the following Ricoman lights:

Ultra-Slim downlights
Orion battens
Alphard Square fittings

The warehouse area includes, 100 x Thanos High Bay fittings. These are with programmable PIR/Daylight sensing. Thanos were installed 6.7m high with 100% PIR sensitivity, 100% brightness for 5 mins when triggered by PIR if ambient light is less than 10 lux, 50% for 1 min after and then off.
This allowed the end customer to save an estimated £4K in energy bills throughout the year.

CP Electronics worked with Ricoman too to provide a number of remote PIR units in certain areas.

Ricoman completed this warehouse and office lighting project in January 2022.
