Bolton UTC

UTC Bolton University was the very first college lighting project RICOMAN supplied lights. University Collegiate School is a mixed secondary school in central Bolton, England. It opened in 2015 on a new site on the University of Bolton campus as Bolton UTC, a university technical college for students aged 14–19 years; in September 2020 it was renamed and began accepting students at age 11.

Here is the selection or luminaires used across the building:

  • Classrooms: RICOLite panels, as they are now obsolete, a very similar low UGR panel now available is our Verve
  • Reception areas: Ultra-Slim downlights

College lighting that is carefully designed can enhance the ability to concentrate, students’ well-being and safety; this is why we ensure the correct lighting specification is used in all of our educational lighting designs. The selection or LED lights used in Bolton UTC is just a small sample of what RICOMAN can supply to a lighting project for an education institute.

We have now added even more lighting products ideal for college institutes. to our portfolio. Our Academy curved linear luminaire is the type typically used in school and education environments, featuring exceptional efficacy of 120 lumens per watt, 4000K, TP(a) rated polycarbonate opal diffuser and also possibility to add antimicrobial coating for maximum hygiene protection.
